Ancient Young Woman
We are the moon’s

Ancient young woman
*
We do not put wrinkles on you because we know you will not know death soon
But who are we to be shy to show time on your body?
Who are we to look down on the beauty of an old woman?
*
Ancient young woman
*
Keeping you beautiful to keep you small
Keeping you young to keep you naive
When you are the one who watched us grow
from creatures without breath
*
Ancient young woman
*
You - hunting

You - torn apart

You - the womb breaking to water earth with life

You, who will see the death of us
before drifting away to an orbit all your own
Pocketing the myths we wrote you
On a journey only you can wonder about

Wooohooooo congratulations on your win! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊
This poetry has such a cosmic and universal feel to it. Love the concept of ancient youth. Also, good on you for showcasing real human artwork in your post! Beautiful pieces here, and it’s legit just great to see a human-made contradiction to the proliferation of AI visuals in online writing
Really evocative poetry 👌🥰
