Grandmother Moon

Mother Ocean

By Ariana GonBonPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

You rocked our ocean mother into forming us

Atoms coming together into combinations

into molecules

into cells

into appendages

into lungs

into jaws

into eyes wondering at you

Into hands outstretching to you

Into backs aching for you

Into working to touch you

Into stepping on you

Into realizations of our young bodies against your ancient light

*

Back to empty ether

Back to blue

Back to earth

Back to dirt

Back to asphalt streets

You following on childhood car rides

To my own hands on the wheel driving to you

The road stretched out

You lighting the fog

I quieting down

Listening to the curves I turn

as you hold me in primordial hands

of piercing light
