An Unexpected Silver Line
And a Comforting Thought in Times of Trouble

It was a barely visible silver line
One I could not share
Because those untouched by cancer would not have understood
How it made me less afraid of dying
Thinking that I would be the first to go
At least then,
I would only have to say my goodbyes once
Not one by one
I would not have to watch my loved ones die
Because I would already be gone

I feel the same minus the cancer part
This was so relatable. I have abandonment issues and don't deal well with people leaving, even if it's by death. So I would prefer to just die earlier than all of them. Loved your poem. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️
