Honesty is the best policy, by any account. It is the only policy.

Having said that, it's not easy to remain an open book. Doing so takes some self-awareness, openness about one's thoughts, consistency, self-acceptance and indeed, courage.

Enjoy these Senryus that I've come up with about being an open book. Japanese poetry typically touches on nature, but we should think out of the box and break convention once in a while.

Mindful little book

Pages forever open

Knows its own pages

Open little book

Story clearly on pages

For all to enjoy

Open little book

Pages always turn

Stories clearly read

Open little book

Pages comfortably turning

Loves its own stories

Open little book

Bravely relates its stories

Always dares to tell.

I'm not an open book but I'm a brutally honest person. I hope that makes sense 😅 Loved your sets of Haikus!
