An Ode to Myself

Finding My Colors

By flying_haiPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Empty white abyss by flying_hai

From the empty white abyss, I came into this plane

Unshaped, uncolored, untethered, unweathered from any other

Adventures await, the itinerary is colored with self-doubt greyish pain

Strained by the seasons, weathered, the internal battles linger further and further

The words of the naysayers' echoes into screams of inner blueish laughter

The battle now shifts to within creating jolts of silver laughter

Yet, the fear continues to seep in further and further

Until it takes root in what I have been chasing after

Why do I even bother choosing one or the other

However, determined to remain I must color in this brain and fly like the crane

Easier said than done the journey with the greatest gain is through the cloudy storm of silver bolts of pain

Unshaped, uncolored, untethered, unweathered by flying_hai

Close my eyes, trust my sight through the pitch-black dark night will I rise

Let the dreams of bright golden skies be the self-evident guide

Confused and dazed by this flight

Inspired to keep the fight with tales of brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, black caged birds all singing throughout the night with every fiber of their might

Finally, I see the blue skies

My ability to dream has been strengthened and colored by this odyssey

Through it all, I learn to soar, fly and absorb all the rich colors of the golden hues of the night

Who would have thought grey can lead to such a powerful golden sight

I must remember passion, belief, and dreams all lie within

It may lay dormant like a volcano in search of the perfect time to ignite these fiery flames of might

Like a gust of colorful wind, it will naturally burst onto the scene

Allow thyself to be seen, shining so bright no matter if it is day or night.
