An ode to my watch

My constant watcher

My watch is very dear to me,

For if I did not wear one,

I’d be as busy as a bee,

With no time left to have fun.

-

Or else I’d spend my time at play,

And never toil a moment,

And come the close of every day,

I’d lack for good employment.

-

Without my watch upon my wrist,

I’d never go to bed,

Or else I’d stay lost in the mist,

Of dreams within my head.

-

I’d very swiftly grow as round

As any watch’s face,

Without the time with which to bound

And curb my snacking pace.

-

Without my watch I could not know

How long it is ‘til dinner,

And quickly I would turn to woe,

And start to grow much thinner.

-

And so, without my watch, you see,

I’m hither and I’m thither.

Governed by just the need to pee,

My world would surely wither.

You'd be too fat, too thin, never waking, never going to bed - you'd be in a right pickle!

  • Made me smile, I loved the alternating sides! Fun.
