An Ode to Coffee
An epulaeryu poem to a scented beverage
If you're anything like me, you'll need your morning coffee, especially if you're a creature of habit.
Coffee is structure and routine. It is what we're familiar with, and what we cannot do without. The aromatic drink is also our comfort in the middle of our chaotic existence.
Drinking a cup of coffee also means an awakening to new perspectives, and a call to action to embrace them.
So, let coffee remind us to welcome the new into our lives - newness that can shape and transform our beings for the good.
A strong, scented sip
Of the familiar and calm
Drink centres the soul
Taste opens the eyes
To scenes of
Love.

The scent of coffee is so alluring in the morning that it is a battle to leave a cup of coffee laying around
Tho, I'm not a fan of coffee but your poem is interesting
Omgggg, I don't know what I'd do with out coffee. Loved your poem!
Rah, rah for coffee. I didn't drink when younger because it was to me like sulfites in wine are to some. Then that sniffling went away. Smooth coffee. Loved your poem, and the line above it: Coffee is structure and routine. You've got alliteration happening too!
