An Ode To...

[Verse 1]

Understanding, just another thing overlooked as the man sings,

A war cry of the destruction his plan brings,

As he reclines in his seat,

Looking down on us from a mountainous peak,

The meek shall inherit the earth,

There never was a word so untrue, the comforting lies you would run to,

Just when things feel tense,

And your blind fear stops you from seeing sense,

Instead of, questioning the world that surrounds you,

You take everything that you hear at face value,

A person who doesn't take a sec of introspect,

In a debate isn't worthy of my respect,

In the mirror you see a patriot; the recipe,

I see a lamb with a lack of integrity,

You are the enemy in my eyes,

So i fly high and rise above the ignorance and the white lies,

Define life with a divine stride,

With pride, outside of societal guidelines,

Can i live? Well i guess we'll see,

At least there won't be another one quite like me.

Give thanks to the police that pull rank,

With a license to kill so they do it coz they can,

Oh haven't you heard, systematic control's in order,

Pull out your phone recorder, hear comes another slaughter,

Injustice is served on a platter,

The fact of the matter is our lives don't matter,

On our day to day, we must raise the stakes,

Show 'em, we're more than digits in a database,

They favour maths over science,

We're living in a landscape formed by tyrants,

And there's many to blame, still we're all slaves,

Shackled with invisible chains,

It's evident that prejudice is prevalent in settlements,

Where we reside, governed by the evil minded,

Your path is chosen for you and it makes no difference,

Let them take advantage of your blissful ignorance,

The importance of love is forgotten,

The world heats up, humanity turns rotten,

We are the biggest virus that there ever was,

I leave my home now i have to wear a mask and gloves,

To shield me from death, or so they say,

To mold my behaviour and lead me astray,

To control emotions and play with my sanity,

To be rid of our collective humanity.

An ode to what?

Love, humanity, care, unity, family,

Devil does not exist,

Devil is Man, Man is God,

And so he thought to himself,

We're all in the same boat,

So why would we rock it?

And the message was clear,

He opened his third eye,

And was enlightened,

And with great overstanding, he said,

The sun shall rise again,

A reflective piece for you and me...
