An Island Paradise

A Love Letter to my PNW Home

By Julie ThielePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

An island paradise

Where rain kicks up dirt

Sand meets Evergreen

Sea crashes on shore in waves of emerald and grey

An island paradise

Where seagull calls pierce your heart

Mountains hold you in their arms of stone

Leaves and branches writhe their way around your soul

An island paradise

Where the forest is a church

Thunder is a hymn

Rain is worshipped upon an altar of earth

An island paradise

Where mists creep through green fields

The night sky drips with golden stars

The moon bleeds her pale light on black water

My island paradise

Where my heart lies buried beneath the damp soil

My soul tosses in the sapphire waves

My being is tethered by seaweed and vines

My island paradise. My home.
