An Innocent Love
Being thankful for the animals that guide us
a love as innocent as love can be
a love that soothes the soul
although times are tough
people can berate
people can hurt
people can hate
but with this being
with fur so soft
with a heart so kind
in which it can atone
will always be by my side
for now, I know
no matter what
I will never truly be alone
