ignorant orchardists eating fruits

unaware of the poison in the tree roots

ignorance not bliss

in this cycle of decay

poverty through medical bills

forcing them pray

more disempowered

by each passing hour

as ‘doctors’ affirm

their disease

is to stay

all for the price

of an apple a day

This dredges up so many concerns of our present state in the medical world. If only an apple a day were true, they would find a way to rid the world of them. Loved your poem, Kayleigh, and welcome back!

  • Well, to them, it's all about business and money. Not about our health. Loved your poem!

  • The simplicity used in this to tell a gigantic problem we are seeing in Medicine is wonderful!

So true! We are only just beginning to reap what has been sown! “We'll go down in history as the first society that wouldn't save itself because it wasn't cost-effective.” - Donella H. Meadows
