All the time spent chasing

You, I never knew where to go

Next. I became as a Golden

*

Retriever, unable to

Attain even basic

Necessities

Despite great personal cost.

*

Isolated and removed from

Society, the price to bear is mine

*

Alone.

*

Beyond all sense and reason,

I still find myself

Torn asunder,

Captivated by the way you move.

Hating the way you won't die.

Vocalist Shrugged? Seriously, this was damn funny...and sad...

  • Great commentary on the fruitless pursuit of the so-called “American Dream”—or “American Dreams” as you put it in the title. We hate the idea so much, especially because it takes so much out of us, and yet we can never let it go. Congrats on your Top Story.
