I can't trust what I see
and I doubt what I am told
My naive curiosities
have left me feeling cold
Like a mouse caught in a trap
A momentary judgement lapse
Oblivious to the impending slap
Sharp regret felt, in a glance
Thinking everything is fine
While the whole world falls apart
Forgetting what is mine
Surrendering my heart
Everything was good
The sun rose proudly in the sky
Then something deep inside me shook
And crystal tears pooled in my eyes
Information overload
Has me feeling overwhelmed
Innuendo rumors grow
New worries have propelled
Should I stay and struggle for the treat
Or expound the limits of my tastes
Inventing new ways to protect my feet
From the traps set in my way
