Always Tea Time

A Wonderland Poem

What worlds have I yet to taste?

Brewed and steeped from foreign leaves

Invitations to parties

That I'm waiting to receive

Madness: thinking you and I

Are not quite as different

As distance might make it seem

I'm very late to the party, but I've had a couple of these rattling around in my head! Ellie Hoovs has released many wonderful Wonderland prompts and example poems as part of her May Challenge. Check out the details below:

  • Delightful poem, despite the dastardly prompt! I loathe cups of tea😳🥺.

  • Oooo, brewed and steeped from foreign leaves. I especially loved that!

I think I read those two stories every week as a child. You captured the playfulness with underlying seriousness (and even a bit of menace) so well.

Ah, a nice bit of Shepard-branded whimsy. Just what I needed to read today, to brighten my mood a little. Thanks for that and what a lovely piece of poetry. Love the fact that it ties in so well with the quote too, not forced or anything :)
