All We Really Want

All we really want, I think,

is to be understood. To know

*

we are seen from our Truth,

our reality: our damage, our

*

trauma, our misperceptions,

and the way those things

*

colored our choices, shaped

our decisions. We want

*

someone, anyone,

*

to see those things and remind

us they were real

*

so we can stop screaming into

the void, trying to convince the world

*

we’re not crazy.
