All Tangled up in Blue

Bob Dylan for Children

By Melody HoagPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Early one morning, the sun was shining

And I called my friend,

Saying “Let’s get together in afternoon blue.”

We had planned on hiking the forest

And sailing in the sea,

Swimming amongst the blue.

I had worn my peacock dress

With matching satin shoes

Colored green all mixed up with blue.

But the rain had fallen so I danced with my satin shoes

In the deepest puddles,

Splashing rainbows into the blue.

Now I ran late to met her,

Wondering if my friend had changed into a fancier dress.

While my dress spattered with water blue.

But in her own wet shoes, she sat on the dock

With lunch on a blanket,

Reds, yellows, and golden yarns stitched with the blue.

We drank lemonade and

read poems about launching a lone ship,

And count the stars in the universe of blue.

Tangled all up in blue.
