All struggle is (hu)man-made

A poem, a letter, a call.

My Dear Child,

Will you join me for a ride?

We travel not to far-off places,

but rather, deep inside.

.

We will use our mind to voyage,

our Vision-from-Within.

Let me know when you are ready,

then we can begin.

.

What I have to share may seem abrupt.

It may trigger many things.

"It just can't be, you're full of it!"

Defenses sometimes come with wings.

.

Will you stay with me, hear me out?

Will you grant this one request?

Let me share this with you fully,

then decide what you think best.

.

I've been watching this... 'society'.

This thing you call 'your world'.

To me, it's a new development;

a brave experiment, unfurled.

.

I see you run in circles,

chasing this and chasing that.

I feel you've lost perspective...

forgotten why it was begat.

.

You used to trade in chickens...

in wool, in spice, in chairs.

You invented money just to simplify:

a house for a thousand hares.

.

You used to actually do things...

build wagons, bridges, homes.

You grew your food, made all your clothes,

even carved your own hair-combs.

.

I'm not saying: "It was better then,

the olden days such greater than the new."

I'm saying: Somewhere along the way, you missed it –

that balance between: Live and Accrue.

.

You were not made to sit in desks...

clacking buttons all day long.

You were made to create, enjoy, innovate... together,

'til all your world's One Song.

.

"Sure, that's great, ya hippy.

'Bout as realistic as kissing my own rear."

That's just your corporate masters talking –

You-leaving-them is their greatest fear.

.

I'm not here to tear anything down.

I do not want you to fight or destroy.

All I show you this perspective for:

That you consider your place of employ.

.

Does your company actually help the world?

It's not enough there's 'some good and some bad'.

Oil is extincting your species.

Entertainment is making you sad.

.

Quit making excuses, kidding yourself,

justifying the wrong that you see.

These companies cannot function without you.

Stop helping maintain their kill spree.

.

"If I don't do it, someone else will,"

you say, like this is such clever wisdom.

If every good person stopped working these jobs,

non-violently, you'd topple the system.

.

It's not just your corporations inciting suffering.

Institutions... they have cancer, too.

"In the name of the law" means nothing at all

when it serves & protects but a Few.

.

Again, I am not for violence,

nor in support of any 'uprising'.

A paradigm shift is what's needed here –

its nature, you may find surprising:

.

A Revolution, indeed, is what's needed –

but its nature, not antagonistic.

You're not fighting 'them' or 'the system'.

Take heart! This fight is more optimistic.

.

The root cause of your suffering is you.

Chasing money, desires, and wishes.

Make enough to get by, work a job 'til you die,

"Better find what your mass market niche is!"

.

The root cause of your suffering is you.

You think a partner, a love, will complete you?

"Manifesting my soul mate: I see us out on our first date!"

Dear One, Love does not come when pursued.

.

The root cause of your suffering is you.

Trauma from viciousness past.

"It wasn't my fault!" You survived years of assault,

but take poison to treat "my anxiety" fast.

.

The root cause of your suffering is you.

Do you know what the truly good news is?

The root cause of your healing is you, too.

But, fair warning: it doesn't sparkle, look sexy, or fizz.

.

The solution is simple enough.

The Answer clear, like the famed "42."

The challenge is creating the formula –

finding a process that works well for you.

.

Go within.

The solution, it couldn't be simpler.

Dig, 'til you find the Real You.

Let fall away... the false and dissimilar.

.

Set free your desires and wishes.

Put down your staunch need for another.

Confront your past trauma, heal it.

Dive deep and one day discover:

.

"My desires and wishes... I picked them.

Worked myself to the bone for their gain.

But, in truth, I did not actually need them.

True happiness lives *here* in my brain."

.

"My heart longed to find a great lover...

to love, and be loved in return.

Before I could find love in another,

for my Self, first-of-all, must I yearn."

.

"My trauma was real and was lasting.

Some made by villains, some more accidental.

But owning it... not the same as possessing.

Identifying with it just made me 'mental'."

.

There's more you will see and encounter...

so much buried You to uncover.

But this path, not easy for walking...

and over it, you cannot just hover.

.

I tell you this, not to dissuade you,

nor paint a dark picture more bleak.

I tell you this, that you may understand:

This Path is not for the weak.

.

I've been watching this... 'society'.

This thing you call 'your world'.

To me, it's a new development;

a brave experiment, unfurled.

.

You are out of balance with Nature,

with Life, with all laws of Wisdom.

Utopia's not a dream, it's 'Step 1'.

New Paradigm means: A New System.

.

You all must be working together;

have you learned nothing from bees?

When Live & Accrue are in-balance,

mind and body are free from dis-ease.

.

Pay closer attention to Nature.

The structure is laid-out right clear.

Watch the herds and the flocks, the trees and the rocks...

all the answers, quite soon, will appear.

.

Utopia does not mean 'no struggle'.

For all, there's still plenty of work.

But work like this makes the heart sing;

at your own ingenuity you'll smirk.

.

There is great suffering in your world.

You know it, as clearly as I.

The only non-option? Do nothing.

Status quo, you can no longer abide.

.

The good news? Your suffering is man-made.

Your evil? Fruit of thine own design.

You made this system... this world. So change it.

Make one that's – toward all life – benign.

.

The solution lies not in 'the other'...

nothing 'out there' or external to fix.

You Are the Solution. Become it!

Go within, cross your own River Styx.

.

I will be here, watching...

encouraging you the whole way.

The more you heal and return to your Self,

the more your mind, to You, will obey.

.

If even just you do this...

your world? It would change overnight.

What do you think your world is composed of?

You. To left and to right.

.

Do you see how the math unfolds here?

If all the 'You' of this world who can hear this

make this your one burning goal: "I will make myself whole!"

In a month, your whole world would be bliss.

.

All struggle is (hu)man-made.

Remember that, when the going gets tough.

Change yourself, change your world.

Only You can say when enough is enough.

.

All My Love,

Your Mother, Earth

Tony, such excellent work! You've got some deep truths in this poem. Many of your themes such as stepping away from materialism, cherishing nature, and and living life to its full and glorious potential remind me of the writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau that I'm reading in my American literature class with my students. Some brilliant thoughts here!
