All is left to dust and ash.

When the land is torn asunder, and the rain would not heed the call,

Where desolation consumes the parched earth, and the hopes of men would fall,

With wars waged throughout every landscape with armies upon the bloodied fields,

Power flexed to divide and conquer, soldiers flee as citizens yield,

The petty struggles of men and flesh, such inventions abandoned as trash,

What once was forged through metal and fire, now left in dust and ash,

Only then, will eyes then see what is left, and release a disheartened sigh,

Only then, will it emerge from where it slumber, only then will it attempt to try,

Only then will those who remain bear witness, in the place where shadows lie...
