Still sleeping daylight with the sun hanging low,
under cover of waning darkness and moonlight’s soft glow.
Nighttime stretches. She’s preparing to go, while
robins bid the morning a sweet, sweet hello.
Incandescent orb warms the land with its smile,
stirring woodland critters, energetic and agile, as
early morning dewdrops feed awakening soil.

Silver streaks of light shine through trees from on high.
Undulating clouds dance in the oceanic sky.
Nightfall approaches with stealth, creeping sly.
Sleek grey cloaks the earth from the sun’s golden eye.
Enveloping darkness warns day’s end is nigh, while
the sweet, sweet robin sings her mournful lullaby,
