All I See Is...

Suppressed

By Rowan Finley Published 6 years ago 1 min read

All I see is... double standards galore.

All I see is... a limited life in store.

All I see is... very few rights at all.

All I see is... a ridiculously skewed law.

All I see is... an unfair trial at hand.

All I see is... none willing to take a stand.

All I see is... my skin, I have to hide.

All I see is... my husband's pride.

All I see is... no hopes of working at a career.

All I see is... my constant ebbing fear.

All I see is... I will never be able to vote.

All I see is... on my brother, my parents dote.

All I see is... segregation, segregation.

All I see is... everyone's constant vexation.

All I see is... life's narrow window and scope.

All I see is... a life of so little hope.

It's like, hello, unfair world, are you even listening?! "All I see is" could totally be the title of a very dramatic mic-drop moment. ✨
