Alice

a poem

By Yvonne JutagirPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Alice come to wonderland

the boy uttered

I don’t know if

I don’t think I want to

~~~
the boy pushed pressured
poked and prodded
Alice muttered an
exhausted ok
~~~

okay I’ll go

down the rabbit hole

they go

it’s dark

the boys eyes flash

~~~
changing morphing
gleaming
suddenly he’s not who
she remembers
~~~

shivers run cold down

her spine but

she is here now

Alice

in wonderland

~~~
there is no wonder
this land is for the lost
this land takes
Alice gives
the boy likes her
better here
~~~

Alice knows it’s

not safe

the rabbit the hatter

they know it’s not safe

they watch as she

withers away

~~~
Alice come to wonderland
her wonder’s wounded
the boy likes her
better this way.
