Oh, dusty old guitar

You’ve sat in the corner

For far too long

Come, let us rekindle

The joy that we once had

With your healing song

- - -

Let us put away

The sorrows of today

That compete for our attention

Let the soft hum

Of your worn metal strings

Ease this crippling tension

- - -

Let my weary voice

Harmonize with your melody

As all else fades away

Let no intruder or thief

Steal from this peaceful place

Let anxiety flee in vain

- - -

Oh, the flesh is weak

But my spirit is willing

So, let us play until my fingers bleed

Until my voice fades

And your timbre grows dull

All for Him who bled for me
