White Rabbit

Why are you so late?

Here’s a time management tip

Leave early next time

Alice

Down the rabbit hole

Let’s try madness on for size

Yes she needs a shrink

Smoking Caterpillar

Self-medicator

Who are you? Yes, who am I?

For I’m not yourself

Cheshire Cat

He smiles through riddles

Visibly invisible

Not here or ‘all there'

Queen Of Hearts

They don't need their heads

So perhaps it's though kindness

That you execute?

Mercury

'The world has gone mad

But it was always insane'

Cackled The Hatter

A brief note

I always knew that Lewis Carroll was fantastically bonkers and imaginative but I don’t think I quite appreciated just how much until I wrote these haikus. I re-watched the Disney classic and I read the original text for inspiration. As a child, you take fantasy and imagination for granted. As an adult, you might come across something as bizarre and fantastical as this and ask yourself, ‘what was he smoking?’
