Alaskan Bend

A watery adventure of the northern kind

Flowing down this sub-arctic stream,

looking around for any silver gleam.

We paddle on toward better looking holes,

striving to fill our ever growing goals.

The air is chilly with a hint of mist,

Keeping us alert for any new twist.

A bend presents a very good spot,

casting our lines without getting caught.

Presenting itself the beast soon strikes,

hitting harder than sturgeon or pikes.

Battle soon breaks the surface above,

Showing his force when push comes to shove.

After an hour the beast soon tires,

giving us hope to fill our desires.

Nets soon raise with prize in tow,

our faces full of satisfactions glow.

We travel onward to our next bend,

hoping this trip truly has no end.
