Ahead of time
But there was no ahead, just the weight of time
Why did you wait until you got to that bridge to cross it?
That's the only time one can cross a bridge-
A brigde, yes, yet you could've prepared way ahead of time
Ahead of time there was only hurt and hate
Oh, sure, we both got hurt, his actions still make me flinch
But we survived, though his actions were a crime
Survival was not enough, this carries far too much weight
I did the best I could, processing bit by bit
I honestly believe you did, as I too, though neither became sage
I wanted more than anything to soothe your anguish, help you again feel at your prime
Too late, mate. Way. Too. Late.
I cannot just quit.
You could've raised the subject when it came up, not waited until you got to the brigde
I do desperately wish I had more time!
Honestly, me too... me too, mate.
