After the Storm Comes Love

From my new poetry series: No Clowns aloud

By PoeticHotheadPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Idaho Sunset after a monsoon

You were nothing more than a mere ghost I was hanging onto,

He is everything you never cared enough to be,

He is gentle,

He is attentive,

I am utterly and completely adored,

which is a delightful surprise after being left almost completely ignored.

Before you sit and try to say that you would've gotten it together

better than him if I had just stayed, chose to wait,

I did not find him out spite.

He found me when I was dancing in the rain

stomping in the puddles of my sorrows

getting cold waiting for your return.

That is when he found me and gave me an umbrella.

That is why you are a ghost,

I am not dating him in spite of you,

I am not holding his hand to forget about how yours used to hold mine,

I am not telling him sweet symphonies in hopes to get a rouse out of you,

That would require for you to be around.

I am with him because I mean to,

Not a thing to do with you

but I bet you wish I was,

get over yourself,

I did.
