After all this time,

I’ve reminisced

Of Regret’s bittersweet kiss

Of roads that led us separate ways

How quick the memories of friendship fades

While wasted wishes plunge in everlasting cascades

Along with my fantasies my mind creates.

After all this time,

Decades flew lost in a windchime

We aged with wisdom from Experience’s ploy

When we were young and insecure,

Oh, how similarly we mature.

No one but ourselves to blame.

After all this time, life is but a game,

And we are just toys.

After all this time,

Like a forbidden kiss, reminisce

Remembering a romance forever missed…

After all this time?

Separated by ties to another life

After all this time,

Always yours,

Always mine.

Wow this is very full of soft what-ifs and it’s got a sad but content feel.
