Addicted to an Addict

You cannot fathom what I've gone through

all to be in love with you.

You hold me tight, you push away

can I make it another day?

The love in my heart is definitely true

the love I have for only you.

Love that you give to other things

tugging each day on my heart strings.

I've done things I would never do

all because of my love for you.

Some days I cry, can't take anymore

swear to walk out that door.

Then I think you need me here

sometimes my thoughts aren't perfectly clear.

Each day is something new

I can't understand what you're going through.

Ever so hard I do try

but eventually I just break down and cry.

I'm like a sinking ship going down

eventually I know I will drown.

So I want you to know what I think

with each beer that you drink.

I will fight my addiction true

even if it is being in love with you.

I'll find the strength to just walk away

not giving care to what you have to say.

I'll find my inner strength to let you go

that is what I need you to know.
