Across the Street

A poem of love at first sight

I sat in the grass

reading a book

waiting for you to appear

First time meeting in person

no expectations about who you are

or who I am

just two internet acquaintances meeting up

to talk about magic and alchemy.

I look up and there you are in your black truck

waving at me as you look for a parking place.

You step out of your truck

and the first thing I want to do

is take you in my arms

and kiss you...

I hold back

that's too forward!

and we walk to a wine bar

and find a seat

Sitting across from each other

drinking Carmenere Burner

and talking about life changes

the magic we work

and the entire time

all I can think about

is how attractive you are

and how much I want to get to know you.

I hold my hand out

and after a moment

you put your hand in mine

and your energy coils into mine

an electric connection

unlike any other I have experienced

I confess my attraction to you

and come over to your bench

and give you the first of many kisses...
