Across the Room

Love at First Sight

By Lynne AlbuquerquePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Is it her?

Can it truly be?

I ask myself "who's that

Across the room from me?"

She has brown hair

Just like in my dreams.

My heart goes pitter patter

And my brain suddenly screams.

'It must be her'

Says my mind all in a jumble.

But what do I do now?

I hear myself mumble.

I walk over to her.

She must not runaway.

For I am so very sure

I am meeting my true love today.

I approach her slowly

With love in my eyes.

She looks over at me then

"Hello" she replies.

I have dreamt of you

For many, many years.

She gazes at me

Her eyes holding back tears.

"But how do you know"

She asks with a smile.

"Because you are exactly who I saw

In my mind for a long while."

She suddenly asks

If I am certain it is she.

I nod my head and say "Yes

Because I saw you across the room from me."
