Across the Room

I never used to believe in love at first sight...

By The Grim WeeperPublished 4 years ago 1 min read
"What makes people fall in love?" Your Tango

I never used to believe in love

Not at first sight anyway

Now I'm convinced you're sent from above

God, that sounds so cliché

But how could I not, with this ring?

How could I not, with this life?

Your words always make my heart sing

How could all this have come from that night?

I saw you, then you saw me

And you made your way over from afar

An innocent trip to an art gallery

Turned into us having dinner at a bar

That first date turned into two

Which turned into three and four

I never would have expected you

To give me something I never had before

I could write you a million different poems

I could sing you a million different songs

But nothing could compare to what you're showin'

I never would have dreamed we'd be lasting this long

Now every waking thought is you

Now every time I close my eyes

All I can ever seem to see is you too

You're the absolute love of my life

Darling, please don't ever leave me

All I need is for you to stay here

And if you left, don't know what I'd be

All I want is for you to be near

That day, I saw you from across the room

I never could have dreamed that it led to this

Now my whole life revolves around you

And all I think about is the first time we kissed

Now every time you are near me

My hearts in my ears goin' BOOM

I'm so glad I was the one for you to see

And fall in love with, across the room
