Acerbic.

Apocalyptic pride.

By caylie hausmanPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

we thought the end of the world

would come slow, would be

the end.

we thought

it would be more of a slow

burn, than it is.

more of a universal

togetherness,

rather than

a cyber

race

to the end.

here we are.

living in it.

the end.

fully going about

our daily lives,

we have not yet hit

the point in the movie

where everyone gives up normality–

–but we could be close.

murder,

and hurricanes,

and sickness.

But,

what if the end of the world

comes often. with vengeance,

and we just

keep on

having Zoom™ meetings.

what if we missed

the end end,

and now we are

Post-end.

No happy end.

Just

a lot of

fire,

and sadness.

a lot of confusion

and lack

of caring.

the world

is closer to

ending

from a slow frost,

first seen

long ago..

caste-ing the system

for the future,

as we watch the frost

come down,

morphing into snow

and ice.

A Future for which

everyone seems willingly

doomed.

our brains slowly

rotting in front of a blue light,

looking for Something

to take us away

from the here,

and the now..

to something

different,

peaceful.

A

happy

end

in our

world of

vengeful,

apocalyptic

endings.
