secrets in these hallways,
hide in corners.
they catch your attention when you least expect,
all of your attention.
gives you something to grit your teeth to at night.
begs you to change but reminds you of the same
goddamn thing that it told you to forget:
choose.
you cannot exist in all these spaces.
they suggest that you choose,
if only to save yourself.
if only to set them free.
we remain intertwined,
the secrets become a comfort.
a sameness that promotes resolve,
until slowly they insist:
change.
Let Go.
