Abilities Differ for Good Reasons

A brief rhyming poem

By Shanon Angermeyer NormanPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

The Little Girl looked at her very tall parents, and she pouted.

Getting as tall as them was an idea that she doubted.

"Mom, I can't reach the top cabinet like you and Dad,"

Her mother understood why that was making her sad.

"Ok, but look under the sink and get that bucket in the back,"

So the little girl went there and instead found a snack.

"There is no bucket under the sink," she told her mother.

"But I found a snack. Must I share it with my brother?"

"You were small enough to find it, so it's all yours, " her mom said,

then added, "If you were as tall as me, the snack would be dead."

This is adorable and hilarious! A perfect mix of playful wisdom and sibling rivalry. The mom’s logic is chef’s kiss—shortness as a secret superpower!
