a woman

unknown

By CE CormierPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

you opened the casket

& jumped into my song

floating colours of gray

everything floating into repetitiveness

repeat repeat repeat

somber notes of nat king cole

in elevated elevators

drop me off

to the basement please

left foot clicked

right foot clacked

all clapping

cement cinders weighted

on yielding blues

nothing to show

except pocket protectors

to the lonely and insane

is the doctor there

you follow up

then down around

to the alley

last door on the light

he says i’m low

he says i’m high

low as a clown

high as a narcissist

give me my meds

on tuesday

with an order of star magazine

don’t forget

to take out the trash

and buy more milk

with peril

and clean the spies

who stare at shellfish

sad poetry
