eyes closing to the dark, he’s in need to find

answers for a question mark, long ago defined

a cure for a poisoned heart, some peace in mind

a light to see, a dotted chart, as he’s going blind

a thirst inside, there’s much to do

no place to hide, it will find you

can’t be denied, it will come through

he could have tried, so clear in view

day by day, it’s just the same

so he goes to play the game

conversation, get a name

tell-me-more, with a timeframe

time is ticking talks away, and where is he?

it is passed another day, nothing new to see

could have found another way, a chance to flee

a sickness churns, there’s much in play, things have to be

life is here and there it’s not, so who are you?

was it gave it what you’ got, a big debut?

did you get it, measured right, but is it still askew?

spot the bait to have you bite, it was all see-through?

it’s full of traps, you fell a bit

a thing sold, had to buy it

you saw a door, it was backlit

and the anger, losing it?

and that table had a seat

and the records are to beat

did you trick to get the treat?

the water’s deep, even on your own two feet?

this endless search, a restless hunt

go prey in church, a sinner burnt

in sleepless nights, in locked up days

a spark ignites, a million ways

gaze far and looking at the sky

he wants to go, no questions why

a mirror telling him a lie

reflecting on what’s not to try

hearing voices in his head

telling him that he’s not dead

and the hunger must be fed

in victory there’s no more dread

did he win or did he lose

had control, but did he choose

fire consumes the soul

God made him half, when there is a whole.

he is, not yet dead

there’s a whole life ahead.
