A WAVE OF CALM
At times, it is best to wash things away.

Submerged in blue warmth the world drops away. The silence moves around me caressing my skin. Every muscle in my body contracts and expands before melting around my bones.
My body floats upwards weightless and limp. Rocking gently, the front of my body is submerged in blue warmth, the back enveloped in the heat of the sun. The contrast is delicious, but sadly I do not have gills.
The world reemerges. One of clear blue waters stretched far and wide and a kaleidoscope sky. The smell of the sea fills my head as my lungs greedily drag down the salty air. My skin glistens in the sun and my lips taste like brine.
My wet locs tickle my back with every movement and every wave. I look through the clear blue of the water, at my feet sinking into the sand.
Gazing out towards the horizon I make my peace with Yemaya. I greet her and tell her about my day, my worries and all of my dreams. She listens closely as she holds me in her arms. Her affectionate patience leads me to give my own offering of salted water.
The heaviness in my heart melts away. I am at home submerged in this blue warmth. At home and at peace.
