A Villain's Point Of View

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Thinking back to all those stories we know

how the villain was defeated

and the hero saves the princess, living happily ever after.

How did those villains come to be?

Evil is not born, but made from the rotten cores of souls who cannot see the light

or simply blinded by it.

I think back to the stories you told me about your villain,

how rotten and how cruel

but undefeated.

Pieces of the puzzle that seem to be missing,

and I wonder how much of the story was blinded by the light of your own ego.

I wonder how the stories would align if I were to find it from the villain's point of view.

Would you still be seen as the innocent,

or was the villain you just behind the mask?
