A Story Built In Snow

The leaves, auburn in their finest glory

falling from their homes

and creating the fall road

all leading to the slow start of winter.

As the trees shed their skin in preparation of their dormancy,

the brisk breeze blisters through as a reminder.

The essence of death is winter's calling

for rebirth of the world,

all just preparing its arrival.

The first snow,

a reminder of new beginnings and new ends to stories,

ponds and lakes being frozen over, still having people floating on top

only this time creating beautiful dances on its surface.

Winter is the warm blanket of reminder,

slowing down and enjoying the world

for it will be reborn once again.
