A Tranquil Calamity

An Interior Look Inside a Chaotic Mind

By O. S. WilliamsPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

The twilight sky

looked incredulously bizarre

the red hue of sunset

doused in bleakness above

I saw the rain and smelt it too

despite the shroud of grey

lingering overhead,

looming ominously

I saw also the stars,

felt the fullness of the moon too

shining brightly

only for those who

could see beyond sight

& who hear without ears

& feel without touch

the winds raged on

as if God himself sneezed,

but none below said, “bless you”

thus the rains showered heavily

thunderous lighting cracked from afar

and hail fell like sinful punishment

from an angered deity on high

it’s just really odd...there it was...

that magnificent storm

screaming at me

through a calm night sky

it must be in my mind

where my thoughts are war-torn,

bad off and far gone...

a raincoat would have been nice
