A Ticking Time Bomb
The time is ticking like a bomb,
A silent drum, a distant throng.
Shadows march where dawn should rise,
Hope a whisper lost in lies.
The air is thick, a bitter shroud,
Threats unspoken, yet so loud.
Hearts are armored, cold and numb,
For war, it seems, is sure to come.
The sky holds secrets, dark and deep,
Promises the earth can’t keep.
Steel will clash and rivers run,
Before the night betrays the sun.
And though the clock’s unyielding chime
Counts each breath, each borrowed time,
A single spark, a loaded gun,
The war we fear has just begun.
