A Taste of Freedom

Lately, I can see.

Finally, I trust in me.

There's no fear, there's only faith,

instead of scraping by with all my weights.

I feel the gods run through me,

as deep as the soul can be.

So many tears of gratitude I've cried,

endlessly illuminating the dark inside.

The taste of freedom is a tease.

Imagine the good life of ease,

day-to-day surrendering to the flow,

to the magic within our souls that make us go,

go wild with passion and love,

as if every day we're flying high above -

high on life's greatest gifts,

giving up all the "what if's,"

by asking only one:

"What if life could always be a life of great freedom?"

Liberation of the minds that keep us confined,

of the past we think defines,

of the judgement, guilt, and shame,

of running in circles pointing who's to blame,

of constantly suppressing and covering up the pain,

of only seeking experiences "to get" out of vain,

of the anger and frustration boiling our blood,

of the sorrow that drains our hearts in a flood.

What if we could liberate? And celebrate.

Celebrate love and kindness,

the fulfillment and the happiness,

rejoicing in the freedom of our souls,

seeking and sharing truth for what we each hold.

To give and be our highest expressions,

to make that our new graceful obsession,

honoring every part of me and you,

as the gods would do.

Lately, I can truly see.

Finally, I can trust in me.

And embark on my soul's true mission

to fight with light and compassion,

and to heal and bring forth true liberation,

rather than settling for temporary tastes of freedom in between waves of paralyzation.
