A Tapestry of Faded Threads
The scent of honeysuckle lingers in the air,
A phantom echo of a summer long since passed.
It twists and turns, a memory laid bare,
A love we built, then watched it shatter fast.
We met beneath a canopy of emerald leaves,
Sunlight dappled, painting laughter on your face.
Two souls entwined, where destiny weaves,
A future dreamt in that enchanted space.
Hand in hand, we chased the fireflies at dusk,
Whispered secrets 'neath a starlit, velvet sky.
Innocence bloomed, a tender, fragile husk,
Vowing forever, with a lover's sigh.
Days turned into seasons, a kaleidoscope,
Of shared adventures, laughter, dreams untold.
We built a world where worries could erode,
A fortress strong, against the winter's cold.
But like the tide that recedes and leaves the shore,
Our love began to ebb, a slow, relentless tide.
Misunderstandings grew, a silent, angry roar,
Pushing us apart, where once we did confide.
Words unspoken turned to bitter, barbed replies,
Gestures once tender, now withdrawn and cold.
The distance grew, reflected in our eyes,
A love neglected, slowly turning old.
We tried to mend the fractures in the weave,
To rewind the thread, to what it used to be.
But tangled knots refused to interweave,
The tapestry unraveling, tragically.
The final goodbye, a whisper in the breeze,
A teardrop falling, a heart that wouldn't mend.
We walked away, on separate paths, uneased,
Leaving behind a love that had reached its end.
Years have flown, and seasons come and go,
The memory of you, a bittersweet refrain.
Did we build on sand, or let the embers glow?
Is there a way to love, and still not feel the pain?
Sometimes I see you, a face in the crowd,
A phantom touch, a ghost of what we were.
The past, a labyrinth, emotions uns avowed,
A love we cherished, a love that couldn't endure.
But in the tapestry, though threads may fray and fade,
There's beauty in the colors, in the moments we embraced.
A love that bloomed, a lesson that we played,
A chapter closed, a memory to be traced.
So I hold onto the fragments, the laughter and the light,
The lessons learned, the strength that grew within.
Though the future's path may lead me out of sight,
A part of you will always linger, a love that's skin to skin.
For love, in all its forms, leaves an indelible mark,
A whisper on the breeze, a teardrop in the rain.
We carry pieces, even in the fading dark,
A testament to a love, that bloomed, then bloomed again.
