Out of the window I see it all,
I smell apple pie baking until it is crisp and brown,
the grass sways as the blossoms fall,
kittens play and flowers rise from the ground,
I enjoy my grandmother’s sweet voice as she hums,
I taste the delight of strawberries fully ripe,
I go outside and dance in the sun,
My grandfather sits on the bench smoking his pipe,
My siblings and I collect eggs from the hens,
The cows are mooing and grazing across the land,
The pigs are fast asleep and safe in their pens,
I look across the forest and see the trees tall and grand,
I search in hope for a four-leaf clover,
I wish this summer’s day would not soon be over.
About the Creator
Haseena
By day I work with children and adolescents who have mental health difficulties. At night I am a writer and artist. I believe that each one of us has a unique story to tell. Creativity heals and expands my mind.
