A Glimpse of Hope in a Dangerous World
The rain fell in sheets, obscuring her vision as she stumbled through the dark alley. She heard footsteps behind her, quickening with each passing second. Fear rose within her chest as she realized she was being followed. Suddenly, a hand reached out from the shadows and pulled her close. She looked up into the face of a stranger, his eyes kind and gentle. "Don't be afraid," he whispered, "I'll keep you safe." And with those words, the stranger led her to safety, leaving her with a newfound sense of hope and trust in humanity.

The Golden Key
The bird soared high in the sky, its wings flapping gracefully against the wind. It looked down at the world below, marveling at the sights and sounds of the bustling city. Suddenly, it spotted something glinting in the distance. Curiosity piqued, the bird swooped down closer to investigate. It was a golden key, lying on the ground. Without hesitation, the bird picked it up in its beak and took off into the sky. It knew that this key would unlock something special, something magical. And so, the bird set off on an adventure to find out what lay beyond the keyhole.

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
