A Step into the Unknown
The Mystery of What Lies Ahead
Before me lies the edge of all I know,
a precipice where shadows twist and grow.
The ground behind feels safe, secure, and still,
yet something deeper stirs—an unseen will.
The path ahead is cloaked in haze and night,
no clear direction, not a hint of light.
Each step I take feels fragile, strange, unsure,
yet whispers call: Move forward, there is more.
The weight of doubt clings heavy to my chest,
its voice insists that staying is what's best.
But in my heart, a spark begins to flare,
a quiet strength, defying every snare.
What if I fall?—the question claws at me,
but so does this: What if I break free?
For every risk, a chance waits in its place,
a fleeting glimpse of courage’s gentle face.
I lift my foot, though terror takes my hand,
the ground below dissolves to shifting sand.
Yet with each step, the darkness starts to wane,
revealing colors born from past disdain.
The unknown holds no promise, no decree,
just endless wonder, endless possibility.
And though the future hides behind its veil,
it’s not in knowing, but in trying, we prevail.
So here I stand, with trembling yet firm stride,
no map, no guide, just faith as my ally.
One step, then two, into the vast unknown,
and find that, in its depths, I’m not alone.
