A Statement on the State

The second smallest state gets its due.

In the state that is diminutive

It sparkles with the gleam of feeling.

That is still yet made too derivative

Of what some think are built to the ceiling.

Where history tickles the whole thinking

Of what is a diamond and small wonder

There’s a sense of remnants of ships sinking.

And made to take the things made asunder.

In all its quiet grace and abundance,

The dollar loves the way hands flash freedom.

It takes time to pause and to simply glance.

How the people show is why they need ‘em.

The story is about corporate praise.

The center of cash—here is where it stays.
