A Sonnet on the Balance of Light and Sorrow
The Fire and the Shadow

A heart ignites then shivers in the blue
The brightness weaves the corners of despair
Each longing casts a shadow sharp and true
While hope is always mingled in the air.
****************************************
The golden hour will gather smoke with flame
As memory folds warmth into its ache
What flickers through the glass is never tame
It blurs the lines the sun and evening make.
*****************************************
Yet love outlasts the falling of the day
Survives the slow eclipse and lights the spark
Where joy runs shallow sorrow finds its bay
And every morning wades into the dark.
*******************************************
So let each day’s uncertainty remain
Love’s light and shadow twined within the rain

Wow! I’m impressed!🤩 This is beautiful to read. I’m trying to work up the courage to attempt a Sonnet & thought I’d read a few entries. I’m even more daunted now!😵💫
I am not nearly knowledgeable enough to give a proper comment on this piece. I read it three times each one more captivating then the last
