A Shrinking Woman
I was five feet, seven and a half inches, and now I am five feet, four and three-quarters inches.
Today, I had a bone density scan
I had a baseline several years ago now
I was 5'7.5" not that many years ago, man
Last time I made a serious vow
to try yoga, as a friend said it worked for her!
That last time I lost inches should have helped spur
me on, but no. Now, before I start yoga
has it worked for anyone else? I will visit Saratoga
before a serious try at yoga. I guess I will keep shrinking
~~
I was told that the average loss is 2 inches
I always knew I was not considered average
I have lost a few pounds and had to put a few cinches
in my belt, but that isn’t the loss, this one takes courage
to talk about. Weight loss is nice, but I have been ill
and will more than likely regain those pounds
She said yoga may keep me from losing inches and still
not get those inches back, and if it prevents her out of bounds
statement about knowing losses of 4–6 inches would be good
In physical therapy, I will ask if yoga is something I misunderstood.
~~
I started physical therapy yesterday, and I have a few exercises
to do that will help me with walking. I am thinking about revises
to the agenda. My eleven-year-old grandson is just a few inches shorter
The way this is going, he will pass me before he is twelve and
I have a nephew, and I thought he was growing. I didn’t think he was taller, but I went to hug him, and I felt like I was hugging his belly. I was stunned.
He is 6'9", so I have always been on the short side next to him.
~~
Then my five-foot friends can’t relate. I have always been taller than them.
I was always okay with my height, too, until I started to shrink.
I do feel like the Incredible Shrinking Man, only I’m a woman.
When I spoke with hubby, he called me a shrimp
No, that did not help. So I said, “Okay, I won’t be taller than you, chimp.”
Can I be on the brink of taking a drink?
No! Not me. No man!

Lovely rhyme… it sure is weird how much people can shrink. My elderly Dad used to be 6’, but ended up about six inches shorter. 🥹
Hahahahahahahaha the shrimp and chimp, that was hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I feel ya. I used to be almost 5'10", but because of wrecks and aging, I'm now a little over 5'8". And I don't slouch.
