Why did he give me the rose today?

A symbol of love in his own sweet way.

He said he loves me, but what does it mean,

When another’s rose falls into my dream?

I wait for the one whose heart is mine,

Hoping for love that feels so divine.

But a rose from someone who isn't the one,

Makes my heart race, though the love's not begun.

Each petal whispers a promise unknown,

Yet, the feeling I seek is still not fully grown.

I long for the words that he hasn’t yet said,

For his love to bloom in the words he’s misled.

This rose in my hand, so delicate, pure,

Is it his love I feel, or just one more allure?

I question the heart that's caught in between,

For it’s his love I long for, my forever, unseen.
